History of Goyal Group
Since 1962, Goyal Group has stood as a symbol of determination, innovation, and purposeful growth. It all began when Late Shri Om Prakash Goyal arrived in Bhadrapur, Eastern Nepal, with nothing but vision and perseverance. Starting as a worker in a rice mill, he soon ventured into entrepreneurship by opening a shop that later evolved into a thriving wholesale business.
In 1975, with the construction of a new road to Ilam, he relocated to Budhabare, Jhapa, where he expanded into agricultural product trading and eventually established the renowned Goyal Rice Mill. His entrepreneurial journey was marked by foresight, technological adaptability, and unwavering dedication — values that remain the cornerstone of Goyal Group today.
By 1990, he moved to Kathmandu, setting the stage for broader ambitions. Alongside his sons, he continued building the Group across sectors, laying the groundwork for what has now become one of Nepal’s most diversified and respected business houses. From real estate and finance to hydropower and beyond, Goyal Group remains committed to nation-building through innovation and inclusion.

A visionary entrepreneur and the driving force behind Goyal Group’s expansion, Mr. Kailash Goyal has over three decades of experience in Nepal’s business landscape. His optimistic and forward-looking leadership has propelled the Group into new sectors while ensuring holistic development — of the organization, its stakeholders, and the nation.
He holds key positions in several prominent forums, including:
- Executive Member, Nepal Chamber of Commerce
- Vice President, Nepal Rashtriya Marwari Parishad
- Immediate Past President, Marwari Sewa Samiti Nepal
- Past President, Jhapa Marwari Samaj
Mr. Goyal oversees the Agro, Real Estate, and Capital Investment sectors of the Group. He has been honored with the Prabal Jana Sewa Shree (2018) and the Sukirtimay Rashtradeep (2022) by the Rt. Hon. President of Nepal — two of the country’s highest civilian honors.

Chirag Goyal
Mr. Chirag Goyal is a dynamic leader shaping the next generation of Goyal Group’s vision. A graduate of Jain International Residential School, he pursued his undergraduate studies in International Business from Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies, Pune, and later completed his master’s from Symbiosis International University. He began his professional journey at Google, Gurgaon, as a Senior Data Analyst before returning to Nepal to contribute to the family business.
At Goyal Group, he oversees the Construction, Trading, and Real Estate sectors and plays a key role in strategic development. Deeply committed to social impact, he leads the Group’s CSR efforts through the Goyal Foundation and actively engages with several community-focused organizations such as I Am Helping Hand & Robin Hood Army Nepal.
In recognition of his extraordinary humanitarian work — particularly during the 2015 earthquake and the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Mr. Chirag Goyal was honored with the Jana Sewa Shree by the Rt. Hon. President of Nepal in 2021. His efforts in uplifting vulnerable communities during times of national crisis continue to inspire Goyal Group’s broader social mission.
